In a major surprise today, confirmation of early reports all-but verify that Warner Bros. Entertainment are in the finishing stages of a deal which transfers most, if not all, of their major DC Comics properties over to Disney.
The critics almost uniformly panned it. The audiences are split, and the dollars, thus far, are pretty solidly in the film’s favor. It is interesting, but not unexpected, that there are such varying opinions on the Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. When I sat down after seeing the film and wrote my “like” and “dislike” list, there were almost twice as many things on the “dislike” list as the good side, but I am still willing to say that the movie was OK. Zack Snyder and Chris Terrio’s new superhero epic has many allegorical and literal themes that you might not expect it to. Even though this movie isn’t on the level of quality of something like Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight”, I do consider the character motivations and mythological themes just as fascinating as the philosophy of Nolan’s grand morality play from 2008.
