In Disney’s attempt to recreate many of their animated classics, they managed to bring to life several princesses (and will continue to do so when Beauty and the Beast opens)… some where a smashing success and others fell flat. But with their third live action remake, they shied away from the fairy tales of Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, and on July 9, 2013 announced that they were going to adapt 1967’s animated classic The Jungle Book (the last film that was made while Walt Disney was still alive) for a new wave of audiences. **Spoiler Free Review
I was worried. Really nervous after I saw all the trailers. The freaking movie had a motorcycle, and it was directed by the Fast and Furious guy. This thing could be a cinematic black hole, sucking all the life out of the galaxy. It wasn’t.
A good movie trailer accomplishes a few things. It excites the fan base, it is visually awesome, and it tells little about the actual film. The trailer for “Star Trek Beyond”, which dropped a couple of days ago achieved all of those things. The trailer certainly is action packed, and when I say that it “excites the base”, it certainly did that, just not necessarily in a good way.
