Monster Hunter fans in the West no longer have to feel like we’re missing out; Monster Hunter Generations finally hits US store shelves later this week! This new entry promises a host of additions to the addicting hunting formula, most noteworthy of all, those nifty Hunting Arts that let us bound over monsters or strike back with special attacks like we’re Dragon Ball Z characters.

A better title for this article should be “what I can’t stop playing.”
What up geeks! It’s been three weeks since Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Conquest came out and I can’t put it down. I’ve already sunk 40 hours of it into Birthright and I’m only on chapter 17. Since I’m no where near completing the game, I thought I would write a small article to explain how much I’m in love with this series already and then write a review later.
Okay so first things first, yes I chose Birthright to play first and I’m actually glad I did. I haven’t even turned on Conquest so I can’t compare the two yet, but with what I’ve been hearing Conquest is all story. This is bad for me, as I love getting all the Support conversations and playing match maker, and in Conquest if you don’t have challenge maps and you can’t grind, how else are you suppose to get everyone’s children? I’m just getting everyone’s children and most of my guys are on their second classes. (Word to the wise, Master Seals are hard to come until you upgrade your My Castle Rod Shop to it’s third level.)
I picked a Female Avatar or Corrin (which I named Alice), and so far I like the story line but being only 17 chapters in, I feel like I’m still just scratching the surface of this game and doing the endless grind to get S-support convos is burning me out. But again, I am in love with this game and I’m really curious how Conquest plays out. (I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the Special Edition of Fates so both versions are on the one cartridge.) The only problem I came up was who would end up with you. (Believe me.. I’m a loser, I made two save files because I was so indecisive.) It came down to Kaze or Silas and I decided to marry Kaze and was not disappointed. My favorite character that I’ve gotten was Kaden’s daughter Selkie. (She’s so cute!!) But alas leave me a comment about who you paired your Avatar with or who your favorite pairing is or even who your favorite character is, I would love to know.
I don’t want to divulge anymore details until I write an official review but as of right now, Fire Emblem Fates Birthright has my stamp of approval!
