A New Planet Coming to “Star Tours” at Disney Parks

Star Wars Celebration makes it feel like it’s already Christmas for Star Wars geeks with all of these new exciting announcements! It isn’t just The Last Jedi, Rebels, and Battlefront II… it looks like we managed to get a bit of news on what we can expect to see in the Disney Parks in the coming years as well!

Guests at Star Wars Celebration were able to listen in on a special panel titled, “Star Wars and Disney Parks: A Galaxy in the Making.” We didn’t just get to learn some new details on Star Wars Land, but we also found out that a new planet destination will be added to the attraction Star Tours: The Adventure Continues.

Star Tours is a 3-D motion simulator that puts guests right in the Star Wars universe. C-3PO is your reluctant pilot on an excursion across the galaxy to different planets such as Naboo, Tatooine, Hoth, and Kashyyyk. But when the attraction first begins, you learn that someone with you in the ride is a rebel spy and the Empire is after you all. Each ride is different so, ideally, you could ride it thirty times and always experience a new adventure! It’s a fun attraction that puts you right in the action of some of your favorite Star Wars moments.

With a new film on the way, it isn’t a surprise to hear that a new planet will be added to the ride’s lineup. Directly after The Force Awakens opened, Finn appeared in Star Tours as guests were transported to Jakku.

The newest addition coming straight from The Last Jedi will be the brand new planet of Crait. Not much is known about this new planet (at least not yet) but we do know that we can expect an epic battle between the Resistance’s ships and the First Order’s AT-ATs… a battle that fans will likely find themselves in the middle of when Crait arrives at Star Tours later this year.

If you haven’t seen the teaser trailer to The Last Jedi yet, what are you waiting for? Check it out here to see the planet of Crait and the epic battle that we will soon find ourselves transported to on Star Tours.

What planet would you like to be transported to on Star Tours? Endor? Mustafar? Let us know in the comments!
