More New Harry Potter ?

In clicking around on Amazon today, looking at the new releases in the Science Fiction and Fantasy category, which I am known to do, I stumbled across three new Kindle offerings for the consummate Harry Potter fan, a title I am now working towards.

Grumpy’s Inadvertent Harry Potter Adventure.

On September 6, 2016, JK Rowling and Pottermore will release three new collections of short stories from in and around the Wizarding World. These collections are made up of short writings that have been published on the Pottermore website, and now have been assembled into these books.

Here are the three titles and some brief excerpts of the descriptions from the Amazon website.

“Hogwarts – An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide”  takes you on a journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You’ll venture into the Hogwarts grounds, become better acquainted with its more permanent residents, learn more about lessons and discover secrets of the castle.

“Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies” – These stories of heroism, hardship and dangerous hobbies profile two of the Harry Potter stories’ most courageous and iconic characters: Minerva McGonagall and Remus Lupin. J.K. Rowling also gives us a peek behind the closed curtains of Sybill Trelawney’s life, and you’ll encounter the reckless, magical-beast-loving Silvanus Kettleburn along the way.

“Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists” – give you a glimpse into the darker side of the wizarding world, revealing the ruthless roots of Professor Umbridge, the lowdown on the Ministers for Magic and the history of the wizarding prison Azkaban. You will also delve deeper into Horace Slughorn’s early years as Potions master at Hogwarts – and his acquaintance with one Tom Marvolo Riddle.

The three Kindle books are priced at $2.99 each in the US and release on September 6. You can preorder them at the links above. Nothing says HUGE FAN like preorders.

In the lead up to the release of these short story collections, JK Rowling also released a series of sketches that she did as she was writing the Harry Potter series. Seriously, is there anything the woman can’t do? These sketches are delightful. Go have a look.
