Orange is the New Black, Season 4, Episode 3 Review

We mentioned there were underlying themes in this season right? This episode is no different, where we discuss what being gay actually means.

First, can we get to the most awkward scene so far this season? This IS Orange is the New Black, so I’m not banking on this topping the season, but Morelli and her husband, uh, excite one another in the visiting room, without ever touching one another. They had teased this with the random phone conversations, but this was definitely the climax for that story line. See what I did there?

We start to get a reflection into Brooke’s past, as we see her interact with a convicted sexual predator. While we learn about her, she’s trying to get to understand Poussey. Rather than commit to being lesbian lovers, Poussey says they don’t need to label it, and they can just commit to “being happy.” Brooke gets Poussey a lunch date with Judy King by lying through her teeth about why Poussey’s past. Brooke has some work to do to win her back.

Tasty is the new secretary for Caputo! And he’s going on dates? Very strange revelation there. Caputo is clearly falling for this girl, as they collaborated having veteran’s serve as CO’s to save money. My money is on that failing miserably.

And the big storyline of the dead guard in the garden… Man, this will be interesting. Lolly wants to get the body. Alex and Frieda now have to deal with a paranoid cohort. Let the games begin.

Brunner 1.0 is the phenomenal one in the Geekiverse, and is too sweet for the rest of the world.
