Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens Announced

Lego Star Wars makes its triumphant return!

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens was officially announced today. After being leaked by Amazon yesterday with an official listing, today’s announcement confirms the speculation that Star Wars would return to its blocky mid-2000s roots.

2005’s Lego Star Wars: The Video Game kicked off the line of games in the highly successful Lego franchise that has gone on to sell millions of copies, featuring everything from The Lord of the Rings to Batman to Jurassic Park. The last game in the Star Wars series was Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars in 2011.

I had been hoping for either a second part to The Clone Wars (3 only contains seasons 1-3), a Lego Star Wars: Rebels game, or most desirably The Force Awakens. It appears I have gotten my wish!

Check out the official trailer below. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out June 28 for every major gaming platform.
