The Geekend – 7/12/15

It’s been a few weeks, but the Geekend is back!

It’s a mixed bag this week for The Geekiverse Writers. Check out below how we spent our weekends!

Josiah LeRoy (@JosiahDLeRoy)Happy Geekend everyone. I am cranking out some comic book reviews this weekend along with possibly one or two film reviews to go along. We have a ton of Ant-man/Star Wars coverage coming this month. Gaming-wise, I will be chipping away at my 100% goal on Arkham Knight. I am at 96%, all I have left is Riddler’s Revenge. I might mix a little Battlefield: Hardline in too. Outdoors, I am excited for the Taste of Buffalo.

Andrew Garvey: Friday night I went to see quite possibly the best geek entertainer of all time, Weird Al! It was an awesome show! As far as other geek/gaming stuff goes, I’ll be following the action at SDCC and playing my modded copy of FF7 (got tired of waiting for the official HD remake), GTA V on my PC, and Arkham Knight.

Louis Mattiuzzo (@Sweetest_Lou): Last night, the beautiful fiancée & I hit up our fourth wedding this summer. 3 more until our own in September (C’MON ALREADY!). Saturday we’re having a family movie night…going to see MINIONS! And then tomorrow will be spent looking forward to the release of “Ant-Man” next weekend!

Samantha Sarvis: The family and I just got back from our trip to NYC, where I went to Nintendo world. It is an amazing two floor store right near Rockefeller square. The first floor was dedicated to Mario and had many demos setup and The second floor had Zelda and Pokemon. I almost didn’t leave with my bank account intact, The amount of merchandise was incredible. They were also having an Amiibo event and the line was wrapped around the building. Now I’m recovering by dabbling in some Animal Crossing and Skyrim.

Jeff Pawlak (@JeffreyAPawlak): It’s a quiet weekend for me. Played far too many games of Magic the Gathering on Friday night, now I just plan to mow through some stuff that I had to keep on the back burner during the week. I just started watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood the other day, and there’s always Splatoon that’s sitting in the Wii U right now.
