Bethesda E3 Review

Ladies and Gentlemen –  the Bethesda Softworks E3 showcase has come and gone,  and let’s just say,  it was,  for lack of a better term,  UTTERLY AMAZING!  Wasting no time getting into what they have to show,  Pete Hines got right into it revealing an old classic that forever changed and started the FPS genre with the reveal of DOOM.

Back in 1993,  DOOM was released and with that,  started the genre of First Person Shooters to come. Presented tonight is the latest release in the franchise. Made by ID Software, DOOM is slated for release on Xbox One,  PS4, and PC in Spring of 2016. Running on an all new engine called ID6, DOOM is not for the feint of heart. Taking into account all of the blood, guts and gore shown in the multiple game play trailers, DOOM brings to the table a plethora of weapons ranging from the iconic shotgun, to gatling guns and energy weapons. It will also feature a multi-player and CO-OP mode for all you and your friends to enjoy. Also brand new,  is the Snapmap feature that allows you to create your own dynamic level and game mode and then play or share with others. Overall, this is a very visually dynamic game that I’m sure all die hard fans of the Franchise can not wait for.

Next we were shown a game still in development called Battlecry. Little is know of this, aside from it being an online action multi-player. Battle cry studios is currently looking for gamers to sign up to be apart of the Beta testing at

Dishonered 2,  developed by Arkane Studios is set for release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC in the spring of 2016. Featuring all new game play, this game is sure to drop jaws. Being able to play as 2 main characters, either Corvo Attano (the main protagonist of the first game)  or Emily Kaldwin (also returning from the first game,  and Corvos’s daughter). Each have their own specific set of skills and abilities. It is unknown if you are able to switch between the 2 at any time during game play.  Set in the birthplace of Corso,  Karnaca is a city located on the continent of Serkonos to the south of the original game’s setting of Dunwall. I’m sure we’re in for a real treat.  From the game play we were shown,  it seems that Emily has an ability to use a smokey grappling hook to quickly move around as well as turn into a shadow or other smokey form to climb around walls quickly.

Also announced was DISHONORED DEFINITIVE EDITION., which will be a remastered version of the original game, likely to include all the DLC,  for current gen systems. No release date was given but if I had to guess, I would assume it would be not too long before that becomes available.

And  of course, the main reason anyone watched Bethesda’s Showcase was for FALLOUT 4. Sadly I will not be covering this topic in the article,  as there is just too much at put into this one. Look for my next article on Fallout 4 and only Fallout 4.
